This model can be used to practice the procedures carried out for tracheostomy patients in the fields of nursing and caregiving when replacing cannulas or performing suction through a cannula.
The Tracheostomy Care Simulator is the most realistic approximation of a patient available today. Careful attention to detail is incorporated into this pseudo-patient. Suctioning techniques, proper cuff inflation, dressing changes, and other techniques can be practiced and critiqued.
This simulation collar can be put on an actor or a manikin and allows the practice of tracheostomy care and suctioning in a lifelike way on humans. The trachea can be filled with artificial mucus and is easy to rinse and clean after practice.

This model shows a cross-section in the sagittal plane. The cross-section runs through the nose, mouth, throat, trachea, esophagus, and stomach. A feeding tube or catheters can be inserted through the nose or mouth into the esophagus and stomach. A tracheostomy is added for the demonstration of endotracheal suctioning.
